Efficiency Manitoba is currently paying a 50% Customer Bonus on top of standard Business Lighting Program incentives, and if you are quoting Manitoba retrofit work, that bonus changes your numbers through March 31, 2027. The bonus applies on top of standard per-fixture, per-sensor, and per-kW rates, and comes with a separate $100 Supplier Bonus paid to the registered contractor on each application. Which category applies to your job
Efficiency Manitoba prices incentives by product category and existing fixture type. Replacing incandescent, halogen, or CFL fixtures pays $10 to $100 per fixture. Replacing HID fixtures, including high bay, pays $35 to $475 per fixture, with exterior paying more than interior. Replacing T8, T12, or T5 HO fluorescent fixtures pays $5 to $120 per fixture. Occupancy sensors and control systems are priced separately. New or backlit signage pays up to $1,000 per kW.

Controls, priced separately
Occupancy sensors pay $25 to $100 per sensor depending on mounting type. Centralized or distributed lighting control systems pay up to $0.50 per kWh of annual savings, calculated separately from the fixture incentive.
Two situations that pro-rate the incentive
In-suite hotel and motel lighting projects are pro-rated at 50% of the standard incentive. Facilities operating under 2,000 annual hours are pro-rated: 50% for 1,500 to 1,999 hours, 33% for 1,000 to 1,499 hours.
Registered supplier status
The supplier or contractor completing the work must be registered with Efficiency Manitoba before the project qualifies for an incentive. A separate Small Business Program offers enhanced incentives for qualifying small commercial customers.
