About LumaQuote
Built from inside the industry.
LumaQuote is lighting retrofit proposal software built by someone who spent nearly a decade in the lighting industry. The problems it solves are not theoretical. They came from real projects, real proposals, and watching capable teams lose time to workflow problems that software should have solved already.
Where LumaQuote came from
Nearly a decade in lighting. One recurring problem.
Working in the lighting industry means spending a lot of time watching the gap between doing the work and documenting it. A contractor does a solid site audit. They know the fixtures, the wattage, the hours, the rebate opportunity. Then they go back to the office and spend the next two hours rebuilding a spreadsheet, copying numbers between tabs, reformatting a Word document, and hoping the version they send the client matches what they actually scoped.
That gap is not a small inefficiency. It is where proposals get delayed, where numbers go inconsistent, and where the credibility of the work gets undermined by a document that does not quite hold together. It is also completely solvable.
LumaQuote was built to solve it. Not with a generic quoting tool adapted for lighting, and not with a platform built for enterprise teams that small contractors will never fully use. A focused, workflow-driven tool built around how commercial lighting retrofit projects actually run.

What we believe
Good software knows what to leave out.
There is no shortage of lighting software with long feature lists. The harder problem is building something that does the right things well and does not ask you to manage complexity you do not need.
LumaQuote is built around a clear principle: know what is needed and what is noise. After nearly a decade in the industry, the distinction is clear. Contractors need to capture fixture data fast, calculate savings accurately, track rebates correctly, and send a proposal the client can actually act on. That is the job. Everything in LumaQuote is built around that job. Everything that is not relevant to that job is not in it.
That means no floor plan tools most contractors will never use. No 50,000-product database that adds steps without adding value for teams doing straightforward LED retrofits. No enterprise features that require an onboarding week before the software is useful.
What it does mean is a workflow that a contractor can open on a tablet or phone during a site walk, enter their audit data, and have a draft proposal ready before they leave the building. The LumaQuote Field app runs on iPad and iPhone and Android, and works with no signal.

The workflow is the product A good tool structures the process, not just the output. Each step in LumaQuote feeds the next so nothing gets rebuilt or re-entered.
02
Every number needs a source Proposals with visible assumptions get approved. Black-box savings numbers get questioned. LumaQuote shows the rate, the factor, the methodology.
03
Conservative beats inflated A number you can defend in front of a facilities manager is worth more than a number that looks good on paper. LumaQuote defaults to conservative, defensible math.
04
Small teams deserve good software too Most of the tools built for this market assume enterprise scale. A contractor doing 15 retrofit proposals a year needs a tool built for that reality, not a scaled-down version of something built for ESCOs.
Who uses LumaQuote
Built for the people doing the work.
LumaQuote is used by electrical contractors, lighting retrofit companies, distributors, energy consultants, and sales teams across Canada and the US. The common thread is not company size. It is that they are doing real commercial retrofit projects and need a faster, more consistent path from the site walkthrough to a proposal the client can sign.
Electrical contractors
Quoting commercial LED retrofits and needing a proposal out the same day as the audit, without rebuilding the same spreadsheet every time.
Retrofit companies
Running multiple projects and needing consistent workflow and proposal quality across their whole team, not just whoever built the best template. On LumaQuote Team, everyone works from one company account, with one brand and one price list.
Distributors and reps
Building proposals for contractor or facility clients, often across multiple product lines, regions, and rebate programs at the same time.
Energy consultants
Producing savings projections and proposals that need to hold up when a facilities manager or energy committee looks at the numbers closely.
Canada and the US
Built for both markets from day one.
Most lighting software in this space is built around the US market and treats Canada as an afterthought. LumaQuote is built in Canada, by someone who has worked in the Canadian market, and the platform reflects that.
Utility rates, CO2 factors, demand charges, and rebate program names for Canadian provinces are built in and ready to use: Save on Energy in Ontario, BC Hydro in British Columbia, Hydro-Québec in Quebec, and more. Select your region and the numbers fill in. No separate reference file and no manual lookup, and every rate stays editable for a specific client.
US regions are covered with the same approach. The platform works the same way regardless of which side of the border your project is on.
