Retrolux Has Shut Down: What to Do With Your Lighting Audit Data

Retrolux shut down in 2026 after 12 years. If your team used it for lighting audits, save your project data first. Choose a replacement once you have copies of the work you need to keep.

What happened to Retrolux
The Retrolux homepage now carries a closing notice marked 2014–2026, a login button for existing customers and a support email. It does not give a final login date or say when customer data will be deleted.
Retrolux brought offline iPad audits, a manufacturer catalog and rebate estimates into one workflow. For teams that used it regularly, the immediate concern is the information behind their quotes and ongoing jobs.
If you still have access, use it to save what you need. A login button on the homepage does not tell you how much longer your account will remain available.
Save your data before your login stops working
Start with active jobs, then work through completed projects and your product library. Use Excel or CSV where those exports are offered, and keep PDFs of reports and proposals.
Projects and audits. Save every project you can, including site details, areas, fixture quantities, operating hours, existing equipment and proposed replacements. Keep notes that explain unusual conditions or changes to the scope.
Site photos. Download fixture, nameplate, ceiling and room photos. Keep their connection to the site, area and fixture wherever possible. A folder of unnamed photos is much harder to use when you return to the job months later.
Your product and price list. Save model numbers, supplier references, costs and selling prices where available. Keep a copy of the supplier quotes behind current bids, especially where pricing has an expiry date.
Proposals and agreements. Keep the versions sent to customers, signed agreements, accepted changes and any attachments. Save the original files as well as readable PDFs where you have both.
Rebate applications. Collect application numbers, pre-approval letters, product schedules, invoices, correspondence and outstanding-document requests. Note the installation and submission deadlines for each job.
Client and site contacts. Save the customer, site contact, installer and program-administrator details you need to finish the work. Include access instructions and the person responsible for approving changes.
Use one folder per client and site. Put the original exports there before editing or importing them elsewhere, and keep a second copy in your usual backup location.
Open a spreadsheet, a proposal and a few photos to check the downloads. Compare one project's quantities and totals with the last proposal you sent. If something is missing or unreadable, add it to your support request.
Questions to ask Retrolux support
The closing notice directs existing customers to support@retrolux.com. Ask for clear answers to these four questions:
How long will existing logins keep working?
What export formats are available, and can support provide a bulk export of the account?
Are the original site photos included, with their project and area references?
What happens to customer data after access ends, including deletion dates and any recovery period?
Send the request from the email associated with your account and include your company name. List the projects or files you cannot retrieve. Keep the reply with your exports so the rest of your team has the same information.
Jobs in progress
For an open proposal, save the last version sent to the customer and any accepted revisions. If you rebuild it in another tool, check the quantities, selected products, installation price, taxes and rebate assumptions before sending a new version.
For a rebate application, contact the utility or program administrator with the application number. Confirm the pre-approval status, approved products, deadlines and remaining paperwork. The program's terms and approval letter govern the incentive; check those directly rather than relying on a status shown inside Retrolux.
For an installation already underway, print or save the fixture schedule now. Give the crew the approved model numbers, quantities, area references and installation notes. Keep a dated copy of later changes so the installer and customer are working from the same scope.
What to look for in a replacement
Use one of your own audits to test the shortlist. Check the parts your team uses every week:
An offline field app on your devices. Try recording fixtures and photos without a connection, then check what arrives on the desktop after syncing.
Photos tied to the space and fixture. Make sure you can find the nameplate or ceiling shot from the audit record.
Your own products and prices. Test an import from your supplier list and check model numbers, prices and units afterward.
Audit data carried into the proposal. Follow quantities, wattages and notes through the estimate. Check what needs to be entered again.
PDF and Word output. Open both formats and review the product schedule, totals and layout.
Published pricing and a free start. Check the plan your team actually needs, including mobile access and additional users.
Full data export. Download a sample before committing. Check which audit fields, calculations and photos are included and how you would use those files outside the platform.
The lighting audit software comparison covers the main options. Keep your existing exports until you have checked the new setup against the original records.
Moving to LumaQuote

LumaQuote offers free setup for Retrolux customers. The field app runs on iPad and iPhone and Android, with full CSV export and a photo ZIP download so you can keep your own copies. Retrolux customers can use SWITCH50 for 50% off their first year of Pro, through November 30, 2026. See the Retrolux switching details for the offer and setup help.
Frequently asked questions
Can I still log in to Retrolux?
The homepage still shows a login button for existing customers. Access may depend on your account. Try your login and ask support to confirm the final access date.
Will my Retrolux data be deleted?
The homepage notice does not give a deletion schedule. Ask support for the retention and deletion dates, and save your files while you still have access.
What replaces Retrolux?
LumaQuote is an option for commercial lighting audits and proposals. Check the Retrolux alternative page for migration help, and test the workflow with one of your own projects before moving the rest.
